Porodn bba z Berlna Stuart Anna (2026)

This Czech-language historical novel begins in Auschwitz in 1943, where Ester Pasternak gives birth to a tiny, fair-haired girl. The baby is immediately taken from her and placed with a German family, but as long as her daughter lives, Ester holds on to the hope of finding her again. In 1945, after surviving Auschwitz and arriving in Berlin on the brink of collapse, Ester begins her heartbreaking search. Jewish families have been torn apart, Europe is in chaos, and people are desperately looking for their loved ones. In every orphanage and hospital she visits, Ester searches tearfully among the toddlers; whenever she sees blonde hair and blue eyes, her heart races. As the months and years pass, the chances of finding her daughter grow smaller. Will Ester find the child whose tattoo matches her own, or is it already too late?
