ABBA – Skryt melancholie (2026)

This Czech-language book explores how Agnetha, Bjrn, Benny and Anni-Frid have continued to make the world dance and sing more than half a century after their greatest hits first appeared. In 2013, respected music journalist Jan Gradvall conducted the groups first joint interview in more than thirty years, establishing an unusually close relationship that continued for the following decade. The result is exclusive material revealing the secrets behind the extraordinary success of this Swedish phenomenon. The members of ABBA speak more openly than ever before, while Gradvall places their unique sound in its cultural setting and shows that ABBAs story is also the story of modern Sweden and the globalization of pop culture. Looking back at the groups history and its triumphant return with the album ABBA Voyage and the revolutionary concert project featuring abbatars, which has already attracted more than a million viewers, the book demonstrates that ABBA has no equal in pop history. With exceptional intimacy, sensitivity and understanding, Gradvall presents one of the worlds most private musical icons as readers have never known them before.
