Viktor Bouka Kamil (2026)

Viktor is, in a certain sense, a suicidal book of poetry: Kamil Bouka uses the full force of his authorial self to massacre the image of the poet as an empathetic, inward-looking being and a noble commentator on the world. In doing so, he confirms his membership in the guild of accursed poets. Viktor seems to have been born between the pages of Boukas all-encompassing trilogy Dokumenty and to represent the only conceivable way of continuing it. It is, and at the same time is not, its opposite. Boukas passionate yet carefully considered poetic polemic with the world and with himself continues, riskily and by any means necessary, to the extreme.
