This Czech-language personal memoir by Svm Gyaneshwarpuri follows his spiritual journey from childhood in Moravia through tramping, caving and solitude to his ordination as a Hindu and yoga monk. Intimate and at times raw, it opens a window onto a world of hermitages, mountains, caves and inner searching that remains almost invisible today. What leads someone to leave ordinary life and set out for forests, mountains, caves and hermitages? The author recounts decades of searching, inner struggles, relationships, renunciation and secluded life in the Moravian Karst, the Krkonoe mountains, Slovensk rj, the Romanian Carpathians, the mountains above Assisi and the Indian Himalayas.
