Jednou za modr msc (2026)

This Czech-language collection of stories shows that anything can become a subject for Ondej Macl: a passionate night on a boat, growing up, experiences from studies and stays abroad, first and especially second loves, living with a cat, dressing up as an ancient demigod, or a trip to a grandmothers grave in Slovakia. More important than the events themselves is the unmistakable tenderness and playfulness with which he approaches them. In his telling, the departure of loved ones is as urgent as fragmented memories of a romance at summer camp. Gradually, a distinctive fragmentary autobiography emerges, in which memory is not merely reconstructed but lived again.
