Sokratova obhajoba – CDmp3 (te Jaroslav Duek, Daniel vb)

This Czech-language audiobook presents Platos account of Socrates defence. In 399 BCE, Socrates faced accusations that he was undermining confidence in social institutions, while his accusers sought to protect young people from the harmful influence of a dangerous sceptic. Athens democracy felt weakened and was searching for threats and causes of its decline, and the philosopher was ultimately sentenced to death. Plato, who was present among the audience, gave his teachers defence its celebrated literary form. The recording also includes a discussion titled Did They Mistake a Critic for an Enemy?, in which Petr ourek talks about Socrates with Professor Filip Karfk. Jaroslav Duek plays Socrates and Daniel vb plays his accuser Meletus; the Athenian people are accompanied by the drumming of Zdenk Konopsek, with Tauri providing the bark.
