Ostraka – CD

This CD by Michal Prokop and Framus Five contains twelve new songs plus a thirteenth bonus track, Na shledanou, a surprising arrangement of a 1960s melody by Ji litr with lyrics by Ji Such. Following the platinum album Mohlo by to bejt nebe, Prokop remains faithful to distinctive rock music and quality lyrics, supported by a three-generation band that has become more than an accomplished backing group and often contributes to the songwriting. The album includes music by Prokop, Andy ermk, Pavel Marcel and Zdenk Wimpy Tichota, with lyrics by Michal Bul, Martin Nmec, Jan Lacina and Tom Roreek. Its twelve songs range from blues songwriting with harmonica through dense Southern-style guitar rock to organ-driven drama, enriched by the bands characteristic strings and brass. From the opening single A pece rno to the closing Vyrovnn, Ostraka is an energetic, thoughtful portrait of our complicated times, sometimes serious and occasionally delivered with welcome perspective.
