Koncert pro klavr a orchestr – Beethoven, Franck, Ravel – CD

This latest recording presents Ivan Moravec, the worlds most renowned living Czech pianist. The generously conceived CD brings together three jewels of the piano repertoire, ranging from Beethovens late Classicism through the sweet, harmonically refined poetry of Francks Romanticism to the Impressionism of Ravels final orchestral work, influenced by the interwar aesthetic and jazz. Moravecs performance combines technical refinement with interpretive wisdom, while the Prague Chamber Philharmonia, conducted by its chief conductor Ji Blohlvek, brings youthful energy and a joy in music to the recording. Together, these qualities create an outstanding performance and a lasting addition to the catalogue.
