Povdky Oty Pavla – CD

Miroslav Donutil reads fourteen stories by Ota Pavel in this Czech-language audiobook, selecting seven fishing stories and seven sports stories that he knows intimately and often returns to as a reader. The fishing section includes Koncert, Moje prvn ryba, Souboj o tiky, Jak jsme s tatnkem servrovali hom, Smrt krsnch srnc, Velik vodn tulk and Zlat hoi, including stories also known from their film adaptations. A song titled Zlat hoi, sung by Donutil himself, is an added bonus. The second half contains seven stories from the world of sport, in which Pavel captures memorable moments in Czechoslovak sporting history that he witnessed personally as a reporter: Jak to tenkrt bel Ztopek, DA Dukla, Brank, Omyl, Sedm deka zlata, Salto nazad and Pln bedna ampaskho. Donutil approaches these stories differently from the calm fishing narratives, using a dynamic, sometimes almost reportage-like reading style.
