Rachmaninov: Klavrn koncerty (komplet) – 2 CD

This two-CD set presents Sergei Rachmaninoffs Piano Concertos Nos. 1 in F-sharp minor, 2 in C minor, 3 in D minor and 4 in G minor, together with Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Luk Vondrek performs with the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK conducted by Tom Brauner. Rachmaninoff has long been Vondreks signature composer, ever since, at fifteen, he was invited by Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Czech Philharmonic to perform the First Piano Concerto. He later achieved international success with the Third Piano Concerto, winning the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2016 under Marin Alsop. This complete recording, made during the quieter period of the COVID-19 pandemic, captures Vondreks deep artistic connection with Rachmaninoff in a performance full of emotion, colour and contrasts. The booklet also includes an interview with the soloist. The accompanying orchestra and conductor support the pianist with precision, creating a recording presented as a celebration of the composers music and its pure beauty.
