The 37th issue of the architecture magazine Zlat ez explores modernity and the questions surrounding it: what it meant for architecture, how it manifested itself and what remains of it today. It asks whether there is one modernity or several, whether it can be readily described or is so complex that every definition is necessarily provisional, and whether it belongs to the past or whether we are still living in it. The issue includes articles by Liana Rosinov, rka Svobodov, Jaroslav Sedlk, Petr Klma, Klra Mergerov, Petr Vorlk, Zdeka Havlov and Tom Fassati, as well as an interview by Jana Tich with Cyril ha and Martin Hejla about the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale. Topics include purity and whiteness in modernist architecture, Rena ertov and Igor Svoboda, young monuments, the conversion of industrial architecture, the path to the Czech skyscraper, Prague beyond levels and the idea that intelligence is more than cleverness. The contents are in Czech.
