A year and a half ago, Autumns husband disappeared. Her desperate efforts to find him have led nowhere, and she cannot imagine how to go on without him, though she must try for the sake of their two teenage children. She takes them for the summer to the charming seaside town where she grew up and seeks comfort working with her mother and aunt in their shared bookshop, but a series of shocking revelations awaits her. Her daughter faces a serious turning point, while her mother has kept a terrible secret for many years.
