Proces Kafka Franz (2022)

This Czech-language edition of Franz Kafkas The Trial follows the sudden transformation of the life of Josef K., a very respectable and orderly bank clerk. One morning, instead of a cook bringing him breakfast, a complete stranger enters his room, while unfamiliar voices come from the adjoining room. When Josef decides to do something about the unexpected situation, he hears the shocking words: You are under arrest. The Trial is often regarded as Franz Kafkas finest work. In this absurd novel, readers experience the gradual psychological transformation of a man crushed by the merciless machinery of the state. From todays perspective, the book appears not only prophetic but unmistakably timeless.
