Msto a jeho nejist zdi Murakami Haruki (2026)

This long-awaited novel by Haruki Murakami loosely follows his 1980 novella and thematically intertwines with his cult work Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. At seventeen, an unnamed narrator falls in love with a girl who claims that her true self exists in a mysterious city beyond a wall. When she suddenly disappears, he searches for a way to reach her. To enter this parallel world, he must separate himself from his shadow. In the city, he becomes a reader of old dreams in a mysterious library, where he meets the girl again, although she no longer recognizes him. As an adult, he eventually manages to return to the real world and find meaning in life. This Czech-language novel is a melancholic and philosophical exploration of lost love, the search for identity, and the possibility of overcoming walls, both dreamlike and real.
