Aeneid, The Epic Tale Complete Flame Tree Studio (2022)

Virgils masterpiece, one of the greatest works of Western literature, was written in Latin between 29 and 19 BCE and recounts events following the fall of Troy, more than 1,200 years earlier, as described in Homers Iliad and Odyssey. It follows Aeneas on his great escape from Troy and the prophecy of his founding a great city, connecting the Roman dynasty with the legends of a heroic past and bringing myth and history into the politics of the Roman Empire. This edition presents the much-loved translation by John Dryden, together with Virgils Eclogues and Georgics and biographical material about his life and work. It is part of the Flame Tree Gothic Fantasy, Classic Stories and Epic Tales collections, which explore the roots of suspense, supernatural, science-fiction and mystery literature.
