The Man Who Fell to Earth Tevis Walter (2016)

Thomas Jerome Newton is an extraterrestrial from Anthea, a planet devastated by nuclear wars whose inhabitants are twice as intelligent as human beings. When he lands in Kentucky disguised as a human, he intends to save his people from extinction. Newton patents advanced Anthean technology and uses the resulting fortune to build a spaceship that will bring the last 300 Antheans to Earth. Meanwhile, Nathan Bryce, a chemistry professor in Iowa, becomes intrigued by the new products Newtons company introduces and suspects that Newton is an alien. As Bryce and the FBI close in, Newtons clarity and sense of purpose begin to diminish. The novel inspires the classic film starring David Bowie and the Paramount+ series starring Chiwetel Ejiofor.
